Gradually, the beaches are emptying and the seagulls are taking over the best sunbathing spots from the summer holidaymakers. The light and colours are softening. The sky looks as if it’s been painted. Late summer is the best time to discover the island’s many other facets. How about a long walk along the beach or a cycle ride into the idyllic countryside?
