IX. Cookies
In order to make the websites safe, effective and appealing, so-called "cookies" are used on these pages. These are small text files with a series of numbers, which are stored on your computer by your browser. Cookies are not part of your PC system. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies automatically. After the end of the browser session, most of the cookies we use are deleted from your hard drive ("session cookies"). The so-called "permanent cookies" on the other hand, remain on your computer and allow us to recognise you on your next visit.
You have the option to prevent cookies being stored on your computer with the appropriate browser settings, although such functions may be limited.
Web analysis tools
Google Analytics, the web analysis service used by us, is a web analysis service provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google") and allows us to optimise our website for you and to make it visitor-friendly through the use of cookies.
Google Analytics
The cookies used by Google Analytics generate information about your use of this website and are transferred to a Google server in the US and stored there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and for the provision of other services related to website activity and internet usage. Google may also pass this information on to third parties in so far as this is required by law, or if third parties process the data on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, we point out that you may not be able to use all the features of this website in this case. By using this website, you agree to the processing of your data collected by Google as described above and for the purpose set out above.
If you do not want Google to receive information from your browser when you visit the websites, you can find an opt-out solution for Google Analytics under tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout . This plugin prevents the browser from requesting the Analytics code, so that Google does not receive any data when you access the page. The plugin is available for different browser types. According to Google, the browser blocks the Google Analytics script after installation.
Nonetheless, this website always uses Google Analytics with the extension "_anonymizeIp()", so the IP addresses are processed only in shortened version to exclude direct identification of a person. This ensures that no detailed IP address information is being transmitted when you visit a webpage
Remarketing function of Google Inc.
On this website we also use the remarketing feature from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA („Google“). This function makes it possible to address website visitors in a targeted manner, with personalised, interest-based advertising displays. The interest-based advertising is displayed to the visitors as soon as they visit other sites in the Google Display Network. To perform an analysis of the website usage, Google uses cookies, which form the basis for the creation of interest-based advertising. Website visits as well as anonymised data regarding the use of the website are captured via the cookies. Storage of personal data is not. On subsequent visits to other websites in the Google Display Network, advertisements are displayed that take into account the products and information invoked by the visitor at the previously visited website.
Using Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
We use the online advertising program "Google AdWords" from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”), and its conversion tracking analysis service. When you click an ad delivered by Google Ad, a cookie for conversion tracking is stored on your computer. The cookies used as part of the conversion tracking lose their validity after 30 days, do not contain any personal data, and are not used for personal identification. If our website is visited before this expiry date, Google and we can understand via the cookie, how visitors are directed to our website (especially when visitors are directed to the site by an ad). Every Google AdWords advertiser gets a different cookie. There is, therefore, no way for cookies to be tracked on the websites of AdWords customers. Using the information that the conversion cookie captures, conversion statistics are created for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Here, the customers find out, in particular, the total number of users who have clicked on their ad and proceeded to the page with conversion tracking tag. However, they will not get any information that can identify users personally.
